Our peace of mind guarantee with Campéole

Takes the risk out of booking

To give you the reassurance you need, Campéole offers a Peace of Mind Guarantee, automatically included for free with your booking. For an even greater level of protection, you can take out cancellation insurance with enhanced cover for Covid-19. And of course we have put in place health and safety measures so you can relax and unwind...

Your peace of mind is our top priority!

Campéole has built increased protection into its Peace of Mind Guarantee, which is automatically included for free with all bookings made via www.campeole.com or by phone with our customer advisers.

1. Cancellation of booking due to government-imposed restrictions:

A booking may be cancelled in the event of exceptional and inevitable circumstances imposed by French and/or foreign authorities, such as:

  • Border closures.
  • Imposed shut-down of the Camping.
  • A national or local lockdown.
  • The obligation for the customer to quarantine on arrival and/or on return to their country of origin.
  • A travel limit of a specified number of kilometres, preventing the customer from getting to their holiday site.

Customers can choose the most convenient option* for them, FREE OF CHARGE:

  • I would like to postpone my booking until later in the 2021 season at the Camping of my choice.
  • I would like a credit note for the total amount paid, which may be used for a holiday in 2021 and/or in 2022 at the Camping of my choice.
  • I would like a full refund of the total amount paid.

2. Customers can opt to cancel, modify or transfer their booking:

2.1 - I would like to cancel or modify my booking.

Customers are free to change their mind at any time up to 45 days before arrival at the Camping!

  • Bookings may be modified FREE OF CHARGE.
  • Bookings may be cancelled for ONLY €25.

List of charges for cancellation/modification, per cottage* booking

For bookings made more than 30 days before the start of the stay, a deposit of 25% of the total cost (excluding the booking fee and cancellation insurance payable at the time of booking) is requested. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the beginning of the stay.

List of charges for cancellation/modification, per camping pitch* booking

For bookings made more than 30 days before the start of the stay, a deposit of 25% of the total cost (excluding the booking fee and cancellation insurance payable at the time of booking) is requested. The remaining balance must be paid no later than the date of the beginning of the stay.

2.2 - Customers can opt to transfer their booking:

I would like to offer my booking to my family and friends. The customer can transfer their booking up to 7 days before the arrival date, providing that the other person accepts all of the same conditions (same booking dates, same accommodation, etc.).

There is a €25 fee to transfer the booking.

3. Campez-Couvert insurance: enhanced cover for Covid-19:

For an even greater level of protection, Campéole offers cancellation insurance corresponding to 3.7% of the total amount of the stay, in addition to the Peace of Mind Guarantee. The cancellation insurance must be selected and paid for at the time of booking.

This insurance includes enhanced cover for Covid-19, providing for reimbursement of all or part of the holiday, under certain conditions. In addition to the traditional guarantees, the enhanced cover for Covid-19 offers protection relating to individual consequences of the pandemic:

Why opt for cancellation insurance to complement the Peace of Mind Guarantee?

Campez-Couvert cancellation insurance is designed to provide guarantees for damages suffered BEFORE and DURING the customer's trip. Because unforseen incidents can happen to anyone (death, illness, hospitalisation, loss of employment, etc.), Campéole strongly encourages its customers to take out the cancellation insurance.

Despite the flexibility of our Peace of Mind Guarantee, in some cases (depending on the date the damage is suffered) it will be more advantageous for customers to make a claim under the Campez-Couvert insurance to preserve their holiday budget.

For example, say the customer has booked a cottage and needs to cancel within 30 days of their arrival. Under the Peace of Mind Guarantee, they would have to pay between 50% and 90% of the total price. The cancellation insurance, however, offers cover for a wide range of damages.

Campez-Couvert insurance comprises guarantees for the following:
  • Trip cancellation,
  • Trip interruption,
  • Return of one forgotten personal possession,
  • Provision of a replacement vehicle.

Some examples for which cover is provided:
  • COVID-19 infection: Cancellation in the event of a declared COVID-19 infection within the month before the date of arrival, during the epidemic/pandemic.
  • Quarantine obligation: Cancellation due to an obligation to quarantine following a positive COVID-19 test.
  • Quarantine obligation due to close contact: A declared case of close contact (notified via contact tracing), pending a COVID-test or pending a test result.

General Terms and Conditions of the Peace of Mind Guarantee:

Valid for bookings made from 01/10/2020 onwards. The stated guarantee is first subject to its special terms and conditions, and then to the current General Terms and Conditions of Booking. Cancellation, modification or transfer requests must be sent to the Campéole booking team in writing (registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, email, etc.). Any cancellation, modification or transfer changes will be calculated from the date on the postmark for registered letters, or the date of receipt of the email. Refunds will be issued to the customer within a maximum period of 90 days, unless the aforementioned party has specified otherwise in writing. In the event of cancellation/modification of the booking the customer has made with Campéole, the Peace of Mind Guarantee and Campez-Couvert insurance may not be applied cumulatively. Offer reserved for the general public (excluding contracts with works councils, linear and tour operators).

1. Imposed cancellation
If postponing a booking, the new stay can be booked within the 2021 season at the Camping of the customer's choice. If a credit note is issued, this can be used to plan another stay at any of the Campéole in 2021 and/or in 2022. If the new stay booked is less expensive, a new credit note will be issued for the difference, valid for a stay in 2021 and/or in 2022. Conversely, if the new stay is more expensive, once the credit has been deducted from the price, the remaining amount will be payable by the customer. Any unused credit will be refunded upon the written request of the customer to the Campéole booking team (registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, email, etc.).

2. Cancellation, modification or transfer of a cottage or camping pitch booking at the request of the customer
In the event of full cancellation of a booking at the request of the customer, Campéole will refund the amount paid, minus the applicable cancellation charges depending on the amount of notice given. These charges are calculated based on the total price of the stay.

  • Modification for a reduced amount, for a cottage or camping pitch booking
Within 44 days of the date of the start of the stay, the credit note issued will correspond to the difference between the total price of the new stay and the amount already paid by the customer. The credit note issued is non-refundable and must be used within the 2021 season. Within 7 days of the date of the start of the stay, the only modifications possible (subject to availability) are those that do not affect the dates of the stay.
  • Modification for an increased amount, for a cottage or camping pitch booking
The customer will be charged for the amount due. Within 7 days of the date of the start of the stay, the only modifications possible (subject to availability) are those that do not affect the dates of the stay.

3. Transfer of a booking
In accordance with Article L 211-11 of the French Tourism Code, a booking agreement may be transferred up to 7 days before the arrival date if the transferee accepts the same conditions (same booking dates, same accommodation, etc.) as the original customer. The customer must inform Campéole of the transfer (by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt or email), specifying the full name and address of the transferee and of the other guests in their party. A new booking agreement will be drawn up in the name of the transferee. A processing fee of €30 will be charged to the original customer.
